10 Things to Do this Easter in Exeter

 There is lots going on this Easter in Exeter. The city's heritage and family attractions are open and there are plenty of fun family events going on. Here are some highlights...

1. Easter fun with Exeter BID

From 11 - 13 April head into Exeter city centre to enjoy a whole host of activities including drop-in free family Easter craft workshops, face painting, street food and live music.

2. Have a go at Clip n Climb

The ultimate vertical playground, Clip n Climb is a fun indoor climbing challenge for ages 4+. The first session of the day is just £10 per person.

3. Learn about life and death in Ancient Egypt

Visit RAMM Exeter on Saturday 8th April to learn and help with a re-enactment of the mummification of Shep en-Mut, have a go at the addictive Ancient Egyptian game of Senet, join the Scribe School and learn how to write in hieroglyphs.

4. Follow the Gruffalo Trail at Haldon Forest Park

Kids will be amazed as characters from The Gruffalo magically appear before their eyes in the forest! Download the Gruffalo Spotter app before you go, then follow the signs to the start of the trail.

 5.  Experience a free pop concert at Crealy Great Adventure Park!

On Sunday 9th April, Pop in the Park sees tribute performances from Olly Murs, Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, & Justin Bieber, all included in Crealy's normal admission fee. While you're there, have a go at the newly opened Driving School for kids.

6. Make pizza at POLPO

    In their first weekend of opening (8th & 9th April), POLPO Exeter are running Pizza Weekend, where kids can put on a POLPO chef's hat and make pizza while the adults relax and enjoy their meal. Adults pay as normal, kids are free! Plus kids eat free throughout the Easter holidays.

7. Easter at Poltimore

Visit Poltimore House on Sunday 9th April to hunt for the chicken and eggs, then enjoy Hot Cross Buns and coffee. House and grounds open 11am - 4. 30pm.

8. Enjoy a family day out at the races

As well as thrilling horse racing, including two pony races, there will be loads of FREE children’s activities, plus Ice Age characters Sid and Scrat making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day! Held this year on Tuesday 11th April, with free entry for kids.

9. Go on an Easter Egg Hunt around Exeter Cathedral

From 1st - 21st April explore the Cathedral whilst counting the eggs that have been hidden all around the inside of the 900 year old building. A chocolate prize will be available at the end, with the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win an Easter treat.

10. Go underground egg hunting

Visit Exeter's Underground Passages between the 1st and 14th April to hunt for eggs left behind by the Easter bunny to win a small prize, then take a guided tour of this unique attraction! Booking is recommended due to the popularity of this yearly event, call 01392 665887 to reserve your place.
