Crash Box Classic Car Show Historic Vehicle Gathering
The Historic Vehicle Gathering returns to Powderham Castle on the 8th and 9th July 2017.
Now in it's 44th year the Historic Vehicle Gathering at Powderham has become probably the largest event of its type in the South West and possibly further afield. We were delighted that in 2016 our efforts were recognised by the The National Car Club Awards in receiving the award for "Outstanding Car Club Event"
Entirely organised by the Crash Box & Classic Car Club of Devon the show attracts huge numbers of classic vehicles from all eras. In 2016 we had exhibits ranging in date from the 1900's to the 2000's. Well over 2000 vehicles were on display.
Sections include Individual Classic Cars, Individual Classic Motorcycles, Classic Car & Motorcycles Clubs (80 in 2016), Modern Classics, Full Size & Miniature Steam Engines, Tractors & Stationary Engines, Commercial Vehicles including Buses and Coaches.A full programme of Arena events with cavalcades from the various sections.A large area is devoted to the Trade, Auto Jumble and Craft stands. The Live Music stage entertains the crowds with bands performing throughout the weekend. Saturday sees a fun Dog Show. And we encourage 'Period Dress'.A dedicated area for Children's amusements including a Bouncy Castle and slides. Face painting and other fun things for kids.On site camping is available for both exhibitors and visitors and there is an easily accessable free public car park.A Programme is available to buy giving details of the exhibits and the arena event programme.
But our greatest joy is that over the years this event had raised thousands of pounds (In excess of £120,000.00) for local and national charities.
