The philosophy of The Salutation is to consistently serve the finest food in an unique atmosphere for all occasions.
The Salutation is no longer a ‘pub’ and does not even have the modern convenience of a bar counter, but we are still refreshing weary travellers in the tradition of the old English Inn. Personal service and customer satisfaction is our aim whether staying the night and having dinner or just passing by and enjoying a coffee or a glass of bubbles in the GlassHouse Cafe.
Owner Tom Williams-Hawkes take delivery of fish and runs the SALT (the new wet fish shop within the building) whilst Luke Heaver is the Head Chef of the kitchen where seafood takes centre stage. On the à la carte dinner menu you can expect to find local oysters and scallops, Exmoor caviar and smoked River Teign mussels, as well as the freshest local catch. The wet fish shop was opened during Covid and is a added addition to the town and is proud of local and sustainable catch.
