It’s the type of weekend we’ve all been waiting for – a bank holiday with eased restrictions! Of course it’s still incredibly important to socially-distance from other households and wash our hands regularly, but lucky for residents and visitors there’s plenty to do in Exeter this weekend where we can remain safe and thoroughly enjoy ourselves! Let our ideas inspire you this August bank holiday…
Eat Out to Help Out
Think you have just enough room for another meal at one of our fantastic restaurants? This Monday 31st August is your last chance to take advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, where you can get 50% off your meal up to £10 per person! Enter your postcode here, see where which restaurants are involved and book your table quick while you still can!
Indulge in a delicious Sunday lunch
You’re not alone if you’ve missed dining out on a Sunday! Why not book a table for a scrumptious roast with your friends and family and perhaps carry on your evening with a drink or two! Tea on The Green cooks up a homely meal with spectacular views of the Exeter Cathedral, The Terrace plates a stylish twist on the traditional dish and The Old Firehouse has recently launched their hearty Sunday roasts! Not feeling up to dining in a restaurant just yet? You can pre-order a delicious roast for collection at the Exeter Golf and Country Club – take a look at their photos, which should be all the persuasion you need!
Street Eats at Princesshay
Have you spotted/smelt Princesshay’s Street Eats pop-up event in their main square? The vendors will be trading daily between 11pm-6pm and until 9pm on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays until 12th September, so this bank holiday weekend is the perfect opportunity to try some local street cuisine!
Socialise with a bottomless brunch
Bottomless brunches are very on trend right now and fans of all things prosecco, pancakes and avocados will be pleased to know that our Exeter businesses are serving these experiences up with a modern twist! Especially for the bank holiday weekend, Pink Moon have set up brunch parties for Saturday, Sunday and Monday with disco and RnB themes – how awesome is that?
At Queen Street Dining you’ll find The Terrace for a bottomless brunch with a classy twist and Turtle Bay – offering their Caribbean-style dishes with unlimited cocktails! Fancy chicken & waffles? Give Absurd Bird a try for a brunch inspired by the Deep South!
Get outdoors!
At the moment, the weather for Exeter looks dry (but keep your fingers and toes crossed for extra luck, it could change!) so make the most of the summer sun and get outside in the great outdoors…
Hop on a bike and cycle the scenic Exe Estuary Trail to Exmouth or Dawlish, slowly pedal to the quaint town of Topsham or drive and take your bikes further afield to Okehampton and follow the Granite Way! Click here for more cycling inspiration.
