Budleigh Salterton beach is a long pebble beach extending for 2.5 miles along the Jurassic Coast, from Littleham Cove to the west, to Otterhead in the east, where the River Otter meets the sea. Bathing is safe and the water clear, families can relax here, with the beach side cafes, beach huts (which are available for hire by the day or week from the TIC) and the rocks at Ottermouth giving parents and children plenty to explore.
The beach facilities include: 3 Beach Cafes; Fishing; Lime Kiln Car park; Children’s Play area; Seafront with level walking; Toilets for the disabled; Dogs allowed on parts of the beach May to Sept (leaflets available), and Part of the South West Coast Path.
The Budleigh Salterton coastline forms the western most section of Jurassic coast, and the cliffs on either side of the town are the unique Red Devonian Sandstone. Budleigh Salterton has a breathtaking bay within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natuaral Beauty.
Budleigh Salterton remains one of Devon’s most unspoilt towns, containing many interesting shops and attractions - so you can spend a day or longer in this beautiful town.
