SW Local

About

SW Local is a new, free online marketing platform for local businesses in the South West, launching on the 1st August 2019.  Promoting the best independent businesses across the Food & Drink, Beauty, Leisure, Things to do, Staycation and Services sectors, it creates new experiences and inspiration for local and visiting consumers.

Developed by Nick and Holly, who are passionate about supporting independent businesses and promoting community spirit, SW Local will be the destination to find the very best the South West has to offer.  “We wanted to create a place where the best independent hotels, restaurants, spas, activities and services are available that meet consumer demand for a great deal but drives footfall to the high street”, said Nick.

“The past few years has seen a fundamental shift in consumer values towards experiences.  The rise in online shopping has massively reduced footfall on the high street and the online market is swamped with multiple deals for large business chains.  Nick & I both come from small towns in Scotland & Ireland where we have seen the value of independents and the South West is a haven for some of the most incredible indies.  We wanted to focus solely on these and create inspiration and new experiences for our subscribers that helps build a new loyal customer base, filling spare capacity and adding a new profitable revenue stream,” added Holly.

One trip to the Exeter Food Festival gives you a taster of what is on offer and the community spirit highlights how supportive people in the South West are.  “The aim of SW Local is to create an online community, with beautiful social media channels championing every business, real life experiences told through our blog and weekly newsletters delivering inspiration, with no added cost to the businesses” added Nick.
