The Narwhal Ensemble

About

"There was a void, and a voice. All the voices. Like hearing myself think in stereo".

1900 : The remote Cornish clifftops of the Lizard Peninsula are used as workstations to develop experimental radio technology.

1962 : Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station, Cornwall, receives first transatlantic television broadcast.

2021 : Cleo Turner, the first Cornish astronaut, launches from Newquay Spaceport.
Blending new writing, grungy aesthetics and live sound technology, this is an electric show with a human heart. It's a regional story about big dreams and small places, the impact of events, and how we make meaning out of a life.

The Narwhal Ensemble are a company of eight emerging artists devising musical, irreverent, and quirky theatre inspired by life in the South West. Formed through Theatre Royal Plymouth's Lab Company programme, their debut production Whey Down South has been performed across the region.

This piece has been supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
