Barnes Ducie

About

Former barrister, Margaret Barnes, and pharmaceutical chemist, Elizabeth Ducie, draw on their professional experiences to write their compelling crime stories. They will talk about how they choose their subject material; their successful cooperation as 'writing buddies'; and how they came to the decision to independently publish their novels.

Margaret Barnes writes about crime from the perspective of a barrister, beginning the story where most crime novels finish. Her books offer readers a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of the English Criminal Justice System, a complex legal maze which is all too often misinterpreted by the public and misrepresented by the media.

Elizabeth Ducie spent more than two decades travelling the world as a pharmaceutical manufacturing specialist. Her series of medical crime thrillers set in the sometimes murky world of international drugs may be fictional, but there's more than a grain of truth and several real incidents contained within the pages.
