EMG Symphony Orchestra 50th Anniversary Concert

Join us for our autumn concert in celebration of 50 years of music-making. Our programme of English music features a specially commissioned piece by young local composer, Alfie Pugh. His piece “Exeter Cityscapes – A Symphonic Suite” is inspired by the City of Exeter, in particular the theme of renovation – the constant development and changing face of the City Centre. The commission is supported by Exeter City Council and Exeter BID.

We are also joined by the EMG Singers for two works – Hubert Parry’s coronation anthem “I Was Glad”, and also the Enigma Variations, re-imagined for chorus and orchestra by Musical Director, for which we also welcome soloists Heloise West and Michael Graham.

There will be a retiring collection for Exeter Dementia Action Alliance

Bax: Tintagel Overture

Elgar: Engima Variations (with choral arrangements by Leo Geyer)
