Exeter Chamber Choir Candlelight Concert

About

Exeter Chamber Choir and orchestra present a programme with a seasonal flavour in candlelight.

Paul Thomas trumpet
Andrew Daldorph conductor

Exeter Chamber Choir and Orchestra presents a celebration of the Annunciation and Birth of Jesus as portrayed by composers over the centuries. Our Christmas journey begins with extracts from J.S. Bach’s “Wachet Auf” cantata, heralding the beginning of Advent, continuing with early musical gems by Monteverdi and Buxtehude. We conjure up the magic of Christmas with festive treats such as Elgar’s “The Snow”, Morten Lauridsen’s “O Magnum Mysterium” and an arrangement of “Away in a Manger” by conductor, Andrew Daldorph. The concert concludes with J.S. Bach’s glorious setting of the “Magnificat”.

Refreshments (mulled wine and mince pies) will be available during the interval.
