Exeter Siege - A Heritage Weekend for our Community

About

From August 3rd to August 6th, St Nicholas Priory will be hosting The Commotion Times, re-enactment group led by historian Ed Fox, to commemorate the siege of Exeter in 1549. The priory will turn into a house under siege and visitors will travel back in time and step into a merchant family's life, watch the servants prepare food, see the ladies at their spinning and needlework, learn how to put on an armour and hear scholars share their historical insights into the Prayerbook Rebellion in the West Country. Families can join in with medieval and tudor pastimes and younger visitors will have the chance to try out historical games.
Each day will have a programme of children's workshops, lectures and demonstrations. Food and drink will be available and visitors are encouraged to come in medieval and tudor dress.
More information will be available on the St Nicholas Priory website about booking a place at the talks.
