The Hourglass basement before the club started

Delta blues band Gets/z Loose are playing at the First Thursday Club at The Hourglass, Exeter on Thursday 1 August.

Fronted by Rob Brown, Gets/z Loose is a high-energy ensemble of amplified acoustic slide guitar, bass, harmonica and congas. Playing old blues tunes in their own way, the band has given getting on for 1,000 gigs in London and across the UK. You'll recognise Rob's voice from trailers for Line of Duty and The Bridge and ads for iconic brands such as Adidas, Mitsubishi, Nintendo, Colmans, Lynx, and more.

The First Thursday Club is held on the first Thursday of each month in The Hourglass, an indie gastropub in Melbourne Street, just above Exeter Quay. Hosted by singer and TV voiceover, Rob Brown, the club presents blues, roots and folk bands in the pub's welcoming basement room. Think Paris in the sixties without the smoke.
