Meet the writer-in- residence sessions: Quay Words Summer digital writer in residence Tjawangwa Dema

About

Come meet our digital writer-in-residence, poet Tjawangwa Dema. As a way to mediate lockdown restrictions these will be free, bookable 20 minute sessions held online on Thursdays. Please bring at least one question or comment, or a piece of writing you’d like to discuss (either your own or another’s). These are not workshops, interviews or lecture-based sessions, no preparation needed. So, make a cup of tea, bring an open mind and we’ll see where the conversation takes us.

Tjawangwa Dema has worked as a spoken word poet for fifteen years. Her first full-length poetry collection, The Careless Seamstress, was published in March 2019 and won the Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poetry, receiving praise from US Poet Laureate Tracy K Smith.

Please note, these sessions will take place online via Zoom. There is space for two writers to book individual slots with TJ. We are offering a range of times  between 10 am and 6.20 pm to ensure the greatest possible flexibility. Tickets for each time slot are limited to one, with a total of two available. If your preferred time slot is displaying as ‘sold out’, please select the next available slot. Zoom meetings will be facilitated by Literature Works and links will be emailed on completion of bookings.
