EASTER THEATRE WEEK FOR IMAGINATIVE 8-12 YEAR OLDS
Imaginative young people aged 8 to 12 are invited to create a stage play with award winning PaddleBoat Theatre Company during the Easter holiday.
The inventive Exeter-based company, which is known for its distinctive and playful approach to theatre, will guide youngsters through a week of storytelling, puppetry, music, design, acting and devising.
This theatre week offers children the chance to have fun creating with other children and professional artists to put together a piece of original drama and perform on Exeter Phoenix’s stage.
The week will focus on Famous Explorers! Think of Charles Darwin, Ernest Shackleton, Amelia Earhart, Neil Armstrong - recreate their extraordinary adventures and maybe make some of your own!
At the end of the week, friends and family will be welcomed into Exeter Phoenix’s auditorium to watch the children perform their globetrotting show on stage.
Katy Dash, Artistic Director of PaddleBoat, said: ‘Whether you have loads of experience performing or you want to try drama for the first time, this week will be such a lot of fun.’
The course is for children aged 8-12 years old on course start date – no previous theatre experience required.
Rehearsals will take place in the Exeter Phoenix studios, with the end of week performance taking place on the stage in the auditorium. PaddleBoat will be at the Exeter Phoenix entrance to meet and greet children and parents/guardians. Children must be signed in when they are dropped off and signed out when they are picked up.
