About

Emerging writers will perform their nature writing for performance works-in-progress alongside Quay Words Summer writer-in-residence Naomi Westerman. All the work performed will have been developed in workshops with Naomi exploring the nature of Exeter Quayside. Come along and support emerging talent through our Quay Voices strand.

This event will be live-streamed from Exeter Custom House. This is an opportunity to be part of a small, socially distanced live audience at the Custom House for this event. We will be following Government guidance to ensure the event is Covid-19 secure.

You can also 'save a seat' at the free live-stream here to watch from home.

Naomi Westerman is a playwright and screenwriter and former anthropologist. Her work has been staged at Wilton Music Hall, Vault Festival, High Tide, the Bush Theatre, Graeae, and the Birmingham Rep. She is currently writing for the Bush Theatre and Hampstead Theatre, and has two TV series in development. She is also founder of the feminist theatre collective Little but Fierce, and an advocate for disability representation and access in theatre and TV.

This event is going to be filmed for live broadcast on Crowdcast. You may appear on screen. Please only book if you are happy with this.

Tickets are limited and available on a first come-first served basis. Please only book if you intend to be part of the invited audience on 20th October. Please provide your full name, email address and phone number when booking. We can accommodate free tickets for carers or personal assistants if needed.

Book with confidence, any changes in guidance that prevent the event from going ahead in person will result in a refund of the ticket price and the event will take place digitally.
