Sam Richards is a Devon legend! A totally original pianist, he straddles stride technique, blues and orchestral soloing. The trio also includes Mike Westbrook's bass player, the seriously swinging Marcus Vergette and inventive drummer, Steve Day. These guys are long time students of Thelonious Monk.
Pianist, Thelonious Monk composed some of the most iconic contemporary music of the 20th Century. Round Midnight, Straight, No Chaser, Ruby My Dear, all became synonymous with classic jazz.
The band's set-list now includes rare Monk masterpieces like Stuffy Turkey, Children's Song, Oska T, Functional and We See, alongside other favourites.
Prepare for creativity and a great night out!
