Space: Light and Sound Show

About

For the first time this March, visitors to Exeter Cathedral will have the chance to travel out of this world and walk among the stars. For three nights, from 5th to 7th March 2020, the interior of the Cathedral will be filled with a dramatic light and sound show, suitable for visitors of all ages.

Produced by artistic collaboration Luxmuralis, this stunning experience will transform the interior of the Cathedral into a visual journey to the edge of the universe and back. The Cathedral's architecture will become an evolving galaxy as light and music fill the ancient spaces, taking visitors on a journey through multiple light and sound installations.

SPACE is one of a series of son-et-lumiere creations that have been installed in cathedrals across the country by Luxmuralis, a collaboration led by artistic director Peter Walker and composer David Harper. As Mr Walker explains, "SPACE has wowed people around the country and the unique interior of Exeter Cathedral will make this installation something I trust people will not forget. We will take you on an artistic exploration of space and take you to the very edge of the universe and back — all on one evening."

Entrance is every 15 minutes per booked time slot, between 6:30pm and 9pm on the 5th, 6th and 7th March. However once inside, we estimate the experience will last up to one hour, as visitors can explore the installation at their own pace.

Advance tickets are £6 adults, or £4 for children (age 4-16), and £16 for a family ticket (two adults and two children). Children under 3 go free and do not require a ticket, and the event is both pushchair and wheelchair friendly.

On the day/walk up tickets are £8 no concessions (subject to availability).
