The Trafalgar Way marks the journey in 1805 of the Naval messenger from his ship HMS Pickle docked at Falmouth to The Admiralty in London. The news he was carrying was victory at the battle of Trafalgar and the death of Lord Nelson.
In autumn 2023 sea shanty folk group The Salts will follow Lieutenant Lapenotiere’s route, stopping at the plaques that mark his route and playing concerts along the way - in the 21 towns along the 271 mile route from Falmouth Tall Ships to a venue close to the Admiralty in London.
