Powderham Castle gardens in summer

About

Powderham Castle is an elegant family home. The Courtenay family have lived here for over 600 years and have a long history of hosting wonderful events and welcoming people to their magnificent home. Powderham is recognised as one of the Country's leading venues. It has many unique qualities, ensuring memorable occasions for all who choose to hold events here.

The Castle, built in 1392, is set amidst a beautiful Deer Park with breathtaking views across to the Exe Estuary. Its ancient woodland creates a peaceful setting where fallow deer graze and where grey herons and exotic egrets are a familiar sight around the lakes.

The majestic State Rooms were originally designed to impress and continue to do so to this day. The vast Music Room is light and airy; with a splendid domed ceiling creating wonderful acoustics. The State Dining Room has an exceptionally warm and welcoming atmosphere and unlike some stately homes the fireplace and minstrel's gallery are often used by guests. The splendid libraries are equally impressive, making it hard to choose which rooms to use.

Every event and occasion is unique and we tailor our service and facilities to meet your special requirements. By working together we guarantee your event will be a success and one to be proud of.
