In Exeter it's easy to travel sustainably - you travel to Exmouth by travelling 30 minutes on a train or around 50 minutes by bus. You could even cycle from Exeter to Exmouth along the Exe Estuary, which will take you around an hour! Find out how to get around by visitng our Getting Here page.
09:00 – Explore the River Exe’s tranquil waters on a Stuart Line River Cruise to see our constantly changing landscape - which is home to a wide range of wildlife and migrating birds that make for magnificent viewing. Did you know? At the heart of Exeter lies the River Exe and even the city’s ancient name Isca Dumnoniorum meant flowing water.
Departing from Exmouth Marina, these circular cruises travel along the peaceful waters of the river towards Powderham Castle and along to where the river ends on Exmouth’s traditional seafront. Book your river cruise here.
14:00 – Head back to the city by bike, train or bus and arrive at Exeter Quay. For those keen to learn more about the history and wildlife of the river, Cricklepit Mill and The Custom House Visitor Centre, are free to visit, just a few footsteps from each other!
