Whatever the season, there is plenty going on in Exeter.

At Easter there are fun egg hunts at Exeter's family attractions. Spring sees the start of the festival season in the city, and during the summer the historic quayside is the place to see and hear live jazz from local bands.

Spook-tastic Halloween events in the Autumn include themed events at the Underground Passages and Red Coat Tours that are always popular. Fireworks on bonfire night plus festive events in the run up to Christmas feature local pantomines and family theatre. A highlight for the end of the year is the atmospheric Exeter Christmas Market on Cathedral Green.

Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market

Exeter Cathedral's popular Christmas Market is back for 2025, from Thursday 20 November – Friday 19 December. Taking place on Exeter's Cathedral Green, the Cathedral Christmas Market is wonderfully atmospheric, set among a labyrinth of winding paths, festooned with fairy lights and laced with the seasonal sights and smells of festive chalets, showcasing a wide range of local, regional, national and international suppliers, offering crafts and gifts, and seasonal food and drink.
