Ad Hoc Voices presents a glorious programme of sumptuous pieces for multiple voices, up to and including double choir.

Stylistically, the focus is on European music of the late Renaissance, Baroque and Romantic eras. The earliest works in the programme are by Orlando di Lasso, the Franco-Flemish composer who stands with Byrd, Palestrina and Victoria as one of the leading exponents of the late Renaissance style.

Baroque works include Bachs Komm, Jesu, Komm, one of his six dazzling motets, Schtzs exuberant double choir setting of Psalm 100 and a remarkable Crucifixus by Antonio Lotti - not the usual 8-part, but an even more richly sonorous 10-part version.
The programmes Romantic repertoire centres on a glorious Mass for a cappella double choir by Josef Rheinberger, alongside the gorgeous, well-loved Evensong and Compline staple Abendlied.
