Changing Tunes returns on Saturday 21 November 2026 with its second annual Exeter concert. This year the concert moves to The Salvation Army Exeter Temple on Friars' Gate.
Changing Tunes is a registered charity that uses music to support people in prison and after release. Its musicians run music sessions in 15 prisons, including HMP Exeter and HMP Channings Wood, and in three secure children's homes. The charity also runs post-release music hubs in Bristol, Exeter, Portsmouth and Birmingham. In Exeter, its Second Verse project offers studio sessions for people on probation.
The concert is a showcase of the year's work. The evening brings together songs and stories from people Changing Tunes has worked with in 2026, performing alongside the charity's Musicians in Residence. Audiences can expect live songs and personal testimonies about what music has meant to the people taking part.
The night will appeal to anyone who loves live music. It will also interest anyone curious about how creativity can help people rebuild their lives. It is a rare chance to hear these voices, in a warm and welcoming setting. Everyone is welcome, including families.
Doors open at 6.30pm and the music runs from 7pm to 9.30pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children. Changing Tunes does not want anyone to miss out, so pay what you can tickets are also available. These are especially for people on benefits or struggling with the cost of living.
The Salvation Army Exeter Temple is on Friars' Gate, a short walk from Exeter city centre. Tickets are available through Eventbrite, with refunds available up to 7 days before the event.
