Exeter Potter's Market

The Transit Shed, The Quay, Exeter, Devon, EX2 4AN
Exeter Potter's Market - one of around 25 pottery stalls

About

Saturday 1st August 2026 is the Westcountry Potters Association yearly market in the beautiful city of Exeter. Open between 10am and 4pm.

There will be about 25 selected potters selling their wares, literally! From sculptures to tableware, there will be a huge variety of goods on offer. A great place to pick up those hand-made truly artisan pieces for yourself or friends and loved ones.

Free to see and browse, with easy access for all, it is however on a cobbled surface so mind your footing.

The members of the association come from all over the Westcountry from Devon and Cornwall to Gloucestershire and Hampshire. It is the premier ceramics organisation in the South West with nearly 700 members, recently celebrated 25 years of potting. Open to all those that love clay, you don't need to be a professional potter to join, just enthusiastic.

For some, it will be the first time they have ventured out to sell their pots. For others, it will be a return to the market as seasoned makers. Either way, you are in for a treat.

Located in The Transit Shed on The Quay, it is easy to spot when you venture down onto this historic site. In addition to the market, there are many wonderful sellers in the old arches and lots more to see over the canal, just a short walk across the foot bridge or on the faithful old hand pulled ferry.

Great places to eat and wet your whistle are close at hand as are public toilets.

Come on down and see hello to these friendly Potters, they are an interesting bunch.
