Gioachino Rossini's La Cenerentola 'Cinderella'

About

Rossini's La Cenerentola (1817) is celebrated for blending sparkling, fast-paced bel canto music with a heartfelt, witty retelling of the Cinderella fairy tale, focusing on kindness over magical tropes. Known as La Cenerentola, ossia La bontà in trionfo ("Cinderella, or Goodness Triumphant"), it is famous for its demanding vocal virtuosity, relatable characters, and the iconic, joyous finale aria, "Non più mesta".
