Into the Pit

About

AK Golding's debut solo show, INTO THE PIT, is an anarchic coal-mining cabaret that drags you headfirst into the grit, graft and glory of coal's past. Part family history, part identity crisis, AK digs into what it means to come from a working class mining family while being a queer, neurodiverse theatre-making millennial. Expect high-octane skits, surreal character monologues, clowning, Billy Elliot spoofs, shadow puppets and original show tunes in a chaotic whistle-stop tour of the mining industry in the UK. Come into the pit and see if you can help bring a little light to the dark.

This event is part of Reclaim Festival, our yearly celebration of women in the arts. Featuring brilliant new writing, not-so-new-but-also-brilliant writing, workshops, music and more, immerse yourself in locally sourced female greatness, to be enjoyed by everyone.
