Budleigh Salterton was deeply affected by the tragic events of Christmas Day 2025 when two men perished at sea. We have partnered with the RNLI for this fund-raising event to open this year's festival. We want to acknowledge the loss of both men and to honour Matthew Upham, a dear friend and supporter of the festival with a mixture of celebratory and reflective music. There will be performances from soprano Sky Ingram, saxophonist Huw Wiggin, Rebecca Smith and her Palm Court Trio and renowned composer and pianist Mark Chait.
