The Devon and Exeter Institution is a thriving independent historic library and educational charity in the heart of the city. Our purpose is to Preserve and Educate and we welcome new members and visitors of all ages.
Timings and tours
Tuesday 16th September - Librarians Tours, 11am (1 hour)
Wednesday 17th September - Architectural Tours at 1:15pm, 2:15pm and 3:15pm, Frederick Douglass workshop, 3pm.
Friday 19th September - Frederick Douglass promenade performances at 2pm and 4pm. Meet the curator at 3pm.

Experience the magic of Christmas in Exeter. Our historic city is the perfect place to celebrate the festive season. The festivities start on the 14th November with the Christmas lights being turned on and 20th November sees the opening of the popular Cathedral Christmas Market.
