Tucked away just off Exeter High Street, The Old Firehouse is one of the city’s most characterful pubs, known for its legendary pizzas, live music, late nights and lively atmosphere.
A favourite with locals, students and visitors alike, this historic Exeter pub is the perfect place to settle in for drinks with friends, grab a bite to eat or make a night of it. The star of the menu is the Old Firehouse’s famous 14-inch square pizzas, served alongside proper pub favourites and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
Behind the bar, expect a great selection of beers and ciders alongside wines, cocktails, spritzes and alcohol-free drinks. When the sun is shining, head outside to the courtyard garden – a tucked-away spot in the heart of Exeter that’s ideal for a pint, pizza or after-work drinks.
As evening arrives, The Old Firehouse really comes into its own. Live music, DJs and regular events make it a popular destination for Exeter nightlife, with a buzzing atmosphere that continues late into the evening.
Looking for somewhere to celebrate? The Attic Bar is a private event space with its own bar, perfect for parties, celebrations, university get-togethers and relaxed group occasions.
The Old Firehouse is located on New North Road in Exeter city centre, just a short walk from the High Street and Exeter Cathedral. From the M5, leave at Junction 30 and follow signs for Exeter city centre. Continue towards the city centre and follow signs for New North Road. There are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the pub, including the nearby Bampfylde Street and Princesshay car parks.
The Old Firehouse is easy to reach by public transport in Exeter city centre. Exeter Central railway station is around a 5-minute walk from the pub, with regular local and regional train services. Exeter St David’s station is approximately a 15–20 minute walk or a short taxi ride away. Exeter Bus Station and city centre bus stops are also within easy walking distance.
