Located within walking distance of Exeter’s vibrant city centre, the University of Exeter’s Streatham Campus provides the perfect, budget-friendly place to stay this summer.

With over 500 ensuite bedrooms available, the University provides a quiet haven, from which to explore the nearby city, coast, and countryside.

Rooms available and what’s included:

Ensuite bedrooms are available for summer stays on a bed and breakfast basis, between the 19th June and 10th September 2024. They include the following:

  • Tea and coffee making facilities with Fairtrade products (top-ups available from Reception).
  • An ensuite wet-room style bathroom.
  • A small fridge in your room.
  • A safe (available in some rooms).
  • Free Wi-Fi.
  • Hairdryers, alarm clocks, travel adaptors, earplugs, and fans are available from reception.
  • Television in bar lounge area.
  • All rooms are serviced daily.
  • To reduce environmental impact, soap is provided as standard in guest bedrooms. Hair and body wash is available from reception.

Things to see and do on campus:

With accommodation located within 300 acres of parkland and botanical gardens, the Streatham Campus provides an idyllic setting in which to relax and explore.

There's plenty of things to see and do on campus to keep you entertained, including:

  • Streatham Sports Park – includes a 200-station gym, badminton and squash courts, tennis centre, exercise classes and more.
  • Swimming Pool – an outdoor heated pool is open during spring and summer months.
  • Exeter Northcott Theatre – Exeter’s flagship professional theatre, located at the heart of the campus.
  • Bill Douglas Cinema Museum – a fascinating museum home to one of the largest collections of material relating to the moving image in Britain.
  • Live@exeter – live music and theatre events taking place in university venues.
  • Self-guided campus walking tours – explore the Streatham Campus' 300 acres with a selection of themed walking tours.
  • Shops - The University has a number of Market Place shops located both on and off campus, offering groceries and other essential items. Opening times may vary during vacations, so please check here for up-to-date opening times.

Places to eat and drink on campus

During spring and summer vacations you'll find some of the food and drink outlets open on campus. These range from the popular Forum Kitchen at the heart of campus, to iSCA Eats, which you'll find next to the outdoor swimming pool.  Opening times do vary during vacation periods, so be sure to check here to see what’s open and when.

Things to see and do nearby

The University is within easy walking distance of Exeter’s city centre, making it an ideal base from which to discover all that the city has to offer. Highlights include, the Historic Quayside, Exeter Cathedral, Exeter’s Underground Passages, free Exeter Red Coat Guided Tours and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM).

Venture beyond the city and discover the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, award-winning beaches, breathtaking countryside and moors, as well as numerous pretty towns and villages to explore.

Getting here and around

With two train stations, Exeter International Airport and the M5 motorway all nearby, the University is far more connected than you might think.

Exeter Central Station and Exeter St David’s (mainline) are both a short walk or taxi ride from campus. The campus is served by buses connecting visitors to the city centre and beyond and bike hire is also available nearby.

If you arrive by car, you will be given a parking permit which allows you to park in certain areas of the campus. In areas where parking is charged for, the pay points are cashless.
