Exeter Cathedral Autumn Fair 2026

Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th October

Step into autumn and discover a wonderful collection of local makers and small businesses in the awe-inspiring setting of Exeter Cathedral. Browse artisan food and drink, handmade crafts, jewellery, clothing, ceramics and more, before taking a moment to admire the Cathedral’s breathtaking architecture. Enjoy a peaceful wander, refuel at the Refectory or warm up with a complimentary glass of mulled wine*. 

*Please note, to redeem your free glass of mulled wine you will need to have a free pre-booked adult ticket.

Exeter Cathedral Photography Exhibition 2026

16th - 31st October

Experience Exeter Cathedral through a different lens this autumn and discover the winning photographs from the Exeter Cathedral Photography Competition 2026. Celebrating creativity, talent and the Cathedral’s breathtaking interior, the exhibition showcases captivating images from photographers of all ages and abilities. Explore the winning shots and see this iconic space beautifully captured from fresh perspectives.

Trafalgar Day Service 2026

Sunday 18th October, 11:45am

Join Exeter Cathedral for Exeter Flotilla’s 52nd annual service, commemorating the historic Battle of Trafalgar. This service is free to attend and no booking is required.

Music by candlelight

Experience the magic of live music by candlelight at Exeter Cathedral this autumn. Following acclaimed performances at venues including Carnegie Hall and the London Palladium, two spectacular shows bring the timeless music of Queen (22nd October) and the Eagles (23rd October) to life. Expect soaring vocals, exceptional live musicians and iconic hits, all performed within the breathtaking atmosphere of the Cathedral's candlelit surroundings.

Monday 26th, Tuesday 27th & Thursday 29th October, 10:30am - 12:30pm & 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Looking for a fun and relaxing activity for all the family? Step inside Exeter Cathedral and enjoy a hands-on arts and crafts session inspired by this magnificent historic building. From colourful stained-glass windows and intricate astronomical clocks to charming owls, there’s plenty of inspiration to spark your creativity!

Led by Exeter Cathedral’s in-house professional artist, Zoë, these relaxed sessions are suitable for all ages. Let your imagination take flight and create something beautiful to take home and treasure.

Library and archives in focus: Through the Frontispiece

Tuesday 27 October 2026, drop in 1pm - 3pm

Step through the frontispiece and into another world! Discover how beautifully engraved frontispieces became gateways to books in early modern Europe. Explore the portraits, allegories and intricate designs that revealed stories, themes and prestige, and uncover how one captivating image could open the door to an entire narrative. This is a free drop-in event, with no booking required.

Wonder, wander and walk the labyrinth

Saturday 31st October, 11am -3pm

Step onto the ancient labyrinth and follow a winding path designed not to confuse, but to inspire reflection and renewal. Whether you're seeking spiritual connection, a moment of mindfulness, or simply a break from the pace of everyday life, this unique experience offers the chance to pause and reconnect. Guided by the “Four Rs” of Remembering, Releasing, Receiving and Resolve, visitors can enjoy a peaceful journey towards greater clarity, calm and purpose.
