Inspired by nature's harvest, the week-long celebration combines gardening, food, family activities, art, music and expert talks in the stunning surroundings of one of the South West's finest gardens.

Discover Europe's fascinating fruit heritage

The festival begins with Europom on 3 and 4 October, a unique international celebration of pomology, the study and cultivation of fruit. Taking place in the Garden Room, this prestigious event showcases fruit collections from ten different countries, with a special focus on apples and pears alongside a remarkable selection of other fruits and nuts.

Visitors can admire colourful displays, hear from expert speakers and enjoy guided orchard tours, making it a must-visit event for gardeners, food enthusiasts and anyone curious about the rich heritage of fruit growing.

Slow down and get creative with The Big Draw

Inspired by the spectacular fruit displays of Europom, visitors of all ages can take part in The Big Draw. Held indoors, this community art project invites people to sketch the colourful fruit displays on show, taking a moment to observe the beauty of autumn and celebrate nature through drawing.

No artistic experience is needed. The focus is on mindfulness, creativity and appreciating the colours, textures and abundance of the harvest season. Each participant will create their own unique drawing, with every contribution forming part of a wider community effort that captures the essence of autumn at RHS Garden Rosemoor.

Family adventures inspired by The Wind in the Willows

Families visiting during the weekends of 3rd - 4th and 10th - 11th October can enjoy a magical woodland experience with Theatre Alibi's Imaginative Play Café.

Set on the Learning Centre Lawn, young visitors can run their own woodland café from a tipi-inspired play space, serve imaginary feasts, meet friendly characters, enjoy animal face painting and gather for storytelling sessions throughout the day. Inspired by The Wind in the Willows, it's a delightful drop-in activity guaranteed to spark young imaginations.

A new chapter for book lovers

Rosemoor's autumn programme also sees the launch of a brand-new monthly book club, Read More at Rosemoor, developed in partnership with the Appledore Book Festival and The Bookery.

To mark the occasion, poet and comedy broadcaster Matt Harvey will give a special reading in the Garden Room at 1.30pm on 10 October. The new book club aims to bring together readers, gardeners and nature lovers through shared stories, conversation and a love of the outdoors.

Taste the flavours of autumn

Food lovers will find plenty to savour throughout the festival. From 7 to 11 October, the Small Garden Room will become a hub of talks, demonstrations, tastings and seasonal inspiration, featuring growers, chefs, producers and makers sharing their expertise and passion for autumn produce.

Meanwhile, The Terrace will host live music and a tempting menu of seasonal treats across both festival weekends. Expect everything from pork and apple sausages and hearty vegetarian dishes to indulgent seasonal ice creams and sweet treats, all created by Rosemoor's food and beverage team under the guidance of Head Chef Jacob.

Learn new skills with hands-on workshops

Visitors looking to deepen their gardening and creative skills can book onto a range of specialist workshops taking place throughout the event. Options include autumn gardening masterclasses, a three-day botanical watercolour course, a practical session on crop rotation and even the opportunity to weave your own willow foraging basket.

These small-group experiences offer the chance to learn from experts while taking home valuable new skills and inspiration.
