Looking for a family day out this October Half Term that's packed with Halloween fun, hands-on activities and beautiful autumn scenery?

Head to RHS Garden Rosemoor, where a spellbinding programme of events will keep little monsters, curious explorers and grown-ups entertained from 24 October to 1 November.

Follow the spooky plants trail

This autumn, visitors are invited to uncover the spooky secrets of the plant world with an interactive garden trail through Rosemoor's stunning grounds. Discover scary-looking species, plants with legendary powers and poisonous plants with fascinating stories to tell. Along the way, collect rubbings, learn intriguing plant facts and stop for plenty of frightfully fun photo opportunities.

Halloween crafts for little creators

Creative youngsters can enjoy free drop-in Halloween craft sessions running daily from 24 to 31 October. Inspired by the strange and wonderful world of plants, these hands-on activities offer the chance to make spooky creations to take home, adding an extra touch of Halloween magic to your visit.

Theatre, axe throwing and adventure

Tuesday 27 October promises plenty of excitement. Families can experience the legendary tale of Beowulf brought to life by Rattlebox Theatre, featuring captivating storytelling, clever puppetry and beautifully crafted sets.

For those looking for something a little more adventurous, expert instructors from Rock and Rapid Adventures will be offering axe throwing sessions throughout the day. Older children and adults can test their aim, while younger visitors can join in with a toy axe-throwing challenge.

Meet amazing animals

Animal lovers won't want to miss the interactive encounters hosted by Really Wild Learning on 28 October. Get up close to fascinating creatures, learn more about them from knowledgeable experts and enjoy opportunities for animal handling and photographs. It's a memorable experience for curious young minds and nature enthusiasts alike.

Science, sorcery and potion making

On 29 October, science and magic come together in a series of exciting workshops led by Devon Science. Families can enjoy interactive demonstrations before creating their own magical potions in an engaging experience that combines fun, learning and a touch of Halloween wizardry.

Enjoy autumn at its most colourful

Beyond the half-term activities, a visit to RHS Garden Rosemoor is the perfect opportunity to enjoy one of Devon's most beautiful gardens during the autumn season. Wander through vibrant seasonal displays, admire the changing colours and enjoy a relaxing day out surrounded by nature.
