About

Discover & explore Haldon Forest park. Whether you want a quiet gentle stroll or an exhilarating mountain biking experience, there’s something for you at Haldon Forest Park. 3,500 acres of woodland just fifteen minutes from Exeter. Build up your skills on the pump track and skills area then head out to try our range of bike trails around the forest:

* Discovery Trail : A great all-ability trail, with fun features for children with regular resting points, that takes in some stunning views over Exeter and Dartmoor. This trail is suitable for walkers and beginner cyclists.

** Skills Area & Pump Loop: these areas are purpose-built to help cyclists develop new off-road skills, with numerous features for all abilities, located either side of the gateway car park. Suitable for novice to advance riders.

*** Challenge Trail: a great confidence builder when moving on from the Discovery Trail. Start on the short loop and build up your stamina by adding on the long loop.

**** Ridge Ride Trail: this is a technical, fast and flowing trail with tight corners and lively descents to test your reflexes.

Road Directions

Travelling by car turn off the A38 at Exeter Racecourse and follow the signs for Haldon Forest Park. The Haldon Gateway Car Park is signposted further along the road on the left.

Please don't use our postcode in your Sat Nav! It will take you to the Forestry Commission Office and not the Haldon Forest Park visitor car park. Instead, carry on past the first gateway you see ('Office entrance only' is painted on the road there) and 200 metres on you will see the main entrance.
