Canonteign Falls

About

Canonteign Falls is a stunning natural attraction in the heart of Devon. Visit us for peaceful walks among the waterfalls and lakes and family fun in the gardens and playgrounds.  Escape the crowds and experience the highest waterfall in Dartmoor National Park.

For garden lovers, the Victorian Fern Garden is an historic snapshot of the 19th Century craze for ferns and fairies.  Climb up through ancient woodland via the original 99 steps into a magical landscape  before  carrying on to view the Falls themselves and see the panorama of the Devon countryside at your feet.  Return down to the Lakes and explore all seven as they meander across the meadows, providing habitats for a profusion of wildlife.

For families, Canonteign gives children the opportunity to roam free, and parents a place to escape the hustle and bustle of normal life.  Explore the adventure playgrounds, complete with trampolines, wooden galleon, zip wire and mini assault course before visiting the cafe to refuel for the next activity.  Children adore the challenge of the steps up to the Falls, spotting our resident fairies and Terence the T-Rex along the way.

With a bee garden, Roald Dahl inspired living “green ship”, poet’s corner, standing stones and 90 acres of ancient meadows and woodland, you’ll find plenty of quiet spots to make your own
