It boasts amazing animals, a magnificent maze, outdoor adventure play, indoor soft play, terrific traversing walls, heart-stopping drop-slide, a 40 metre zip line, and authentic Saxon village!
It isn't easy to fit it all in but anyone up to the challenge will be rewarded with a fabulous, fun-filled day out in the beautiful countryside of Devon.
For the best chance to see the animals, follow the timetable of feeds and public talks. The friendly keepers will tell you all about the beautiful animals that call Wildwood Devon their home and you can learn about their histories, their characters and how they help to support their cousins in the wild. If you’re lucky you could enjoy a close-up encounter with the fascinating red squirrels in the amazing walk-through enclosure.
Why not lose yourself in the world class Beech Hedge Maze, then find yourself on the wonderful winding trails through the tranquil woodland. Here among the majestic trees, you’ll encounter magnificent wolves, stunning lynx, wild boar, wildcats and the ever-adorable otters and red squirrels.
There’s plenty to keep the kids engaged and entertained. Test their mettle on the terrifying Tree-Top Drop-Slide, challenge them on the Traversing Walls and watch them enjoy the thrill of the 40 Meter Zip-Line.They've even got outdoor adventure and indoor soft play so parents can enjoy a moment of relaxation.
For a unique, entertaining and educational diversion, fly back to the Anglo-Saxon age at their Saxon Village. You’ll get an authentic taste of Saxon costume, craft and culture. You may even get a chance to craft something of your own in the Greenwood Centre, strike a Saxon penny or make some jewellery in the Village Forge*. Make sure to keep an eye on the timetable because you won’t want to miss their falconer as he puts on an incredible aerial display with his birds of Prey.
And don’t forget to stop and enjoy lunch in the Coach House Cafe, where they have hearty meals as well as ice-cream, drinks, snacks and some seriously delicious homemade cakes and biscuits.
Don’t worry if you can’t fit it all in, you can become a member of the Wildwood Trust – which supports vital conservation work and you'll get free admission all year round!
