Welcome to Exeter Philharmonic Choir's 180th Anniversary Season.
Carl Orff's Carmina Burana is one of the most popular choral works of the twentieth century, best known for its electrifying opening chorus, O Fortuna . Dramatic, energetic and instantly recognisable, its music has found a place far beyond the concert hall, featuring in films, television and advertising around the world.
This will be a very special performance bringing together generations of musicians from across Devon. The county's finest young instrumentalists will perform side by side with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, joined by Devon County Junior Choir and children from Bovey Tracey Academy Choir.
In addition to Carmina Burana, the concert also includes three other wonderful pieces of music: Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man ; Karl Jenkins Sanctus and Benedictus from The Armed Man ; and Patrick Hawes Quanta Qualia.
