Drawing on 40 years of serious record collecting, Exeter DJ Spider (Wax the Van) takes over 12 Bar for a four-hour Sunday session built around the true art of the long-form DJ set.
Beginning with soul and jazz before moving through jazz-funk, Afro, Latin and disco-and into the deepest house cuts of today-Spider will gradually build the music across the afternoon, following the spirit of legendary New York parties such as The Loft and Body & Soul.
Don’t expect hands-in-the-air anthems. Do expect heavyweight, hypnotic grooves for dancers, diggers and anyone who wants to hear something deeper.
