"A practical, hands-on workshop introducing participants to the culture, methods, and creative possibilities of both physical and digital zine-making. Using accessible digital tools, participants learn the basics of layout, composition, collage, and image manipulation, and prepare their work for print and online distribution. Designed for beginners and easily adaptable for mixed-ability groups.
This workshop aims to:
- Introduce the concept, purpose, and cultural history of zines
- Explore accessible digital tools for layout, typography, and image creation
- Build practical skills in digital collage, page planning, sequencing, and visual storytelling
- Support participants in producing a completed mini-zine or developing the groundwork for a longer zine project
- Encourage experimentation, personal expression, and creative play"
