It was coming up to Christmas in 1943. The Palmer family had been looking forward to a normal, happy family Christmas. They set the decorations up early and the tinsel glittered through the multi coloured lights set on the Christmas Tree which had pride of place in their Drawing Room.
However, things took a distinctly darker turn when they awoke a few days ago to find Santa lying under the tree apparently having succumbed to a fatal heart attack. This was, of course, not the real Santa but an Uncle with whom they were living.
The Doctor who signed the death certificate found that he had died of natural causes but the family didn't feel they could celebrate Christmas in the house and so they arranged to meet here tonight to do their best to celebrate the festive season.
They are interrupted by Detective Chief Inspector Appleby who brings shocking news. As the evening continues and as the Inspector pursues his investigations further secrets are revealed and there is a second tragedy.
The Inspector calls on the other guests present at the meal to help him and all the clues will be there to catch the killer, but will they be correctly deduced? Appleby is determined to get to the truth before the night is out!
