Exeter Northcott is a city-wide organisation welcoming more than 100,000 people each year to live theatre and events at the Northcott Theatre on the University campus, and the Barnfield Theatre in the city centre.
A registered charity, the Northcott also offers a wide range of creative opportunities, for and with the people of Exeter and Devon. These include year-round opportunities for young people through the Northcott Young Company; Elevate, a talent development programme for local artists; and bespoke projects developed with community groups, schools and other charities.
Exeter Northcott Theatre is supported by the University of Exeter, Arts Council England and Exeter City Council.
Accessibility
Both entrances to the Northcott Theatre have ramped access. There are 3 blue badge parking spaces on Queens Drive, at the rear of the theatre, 10 spaces in car park C at the front, and 5 more spaces a little bit further at Northcote House.
There is a lift located to the left of our main entrance, next to the BoxOffice. Accessible washroom facilities are located on the ground floor opposite the stairs and on level 3, accessible via the lift.
The auditorium has 6 wheelchair spaces on row G, which you can easily acces by taking the lift to level 3. Our wheelchair spaces, and a limited number of level access seats, are only bookable through our Box Office. This is how we ensure that appropriate seats are available to those who need them.
Certain performances are made more accessible through sign language interpretation, audio description, captioning, or slight adjustments that make for a more relaxed theatre-going experience. All access performances are highlighted on our what's on page with little icons and can be selected by using the filter option.
At the Northcott, our box office and auditorium have an accessible hearing system, which transmits audio to hearing aids or specially provided headphones (which can be collected from our box office). The system can also be accessed via the Sennheiser MobileConnect app, which is available on both iOS and Android devices.
If you have any access needs, you are entitled to a concession and/or a free carer ticket. To allow us to meet your access needs, please contact access@exeternorthcott.co.uk or speak to our Box Office team directly when booking your tickets.
