Neil Burns' Organ Trio

About

Scottish guitarist Neil Burns is one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz - a player deeply rooted in the organ trio tradition with a funky, bluesy bebop style that draws on the greats from Wes Montgomery and Grant Green through to John Scofield and Larry Goldings.

Neil's organ trio (featuring Martin Jenkins on organ and Pip Harbon on drums) is a hard-swinging, hard-grooving unit that celebrates the rich history of the organ trio while pushing it forward with a contemporary edge and original compositions. A festival favourite in recent years, the trio continue to evolve creatively, bringing energy, soul and serious musicianship to every performance.

Neil has shared stages with some of the finest names in jazz including Jacqui Dankworth, Jim Mullen, Greg Abate, Bobby Wellins and Simon Spillett, and collaborates regularly with funk heavyweights The Haggis Horns - the horn section behind Amy Winehouse, Jamiroquai and Corinne Bailey Rae.

If you love Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse or Jamie Cullum - this is your night out.
