We’re buzzing to welcome girli to 12 Bar for a very special in-store performance and signing, celebrating her brand new third album, it’s just my opinion.
With this record, girli steps fully into her most honest era yet. Sharp, cohesive and rooted in who she’s always been, the album channels the chaos and hooks of North London’s indie sleaze scene - pulsing with the restless energy of a sweaty Camden basement show. It’s classic girli alt-pop: nostalgic, chaotic and fearless - but now sharpened with a bold new edge.
Following the breakout impact of Matriarchy, girli has continued to carve out her own lane in the alternative space - blending pop instinct with underground bite. Recent singles ‘Better Undressed’ and ‘Slap On The Wrist’ signal a shift in tone: trading gloss for grit, polish for something more raw and intimate. The high-concept production remains, but this time it’s grounded in girl-next-door vulnerability and unfiltered truth.
As an openly LGBTQ+ artist and outspoken advocate for social change, girli’s songwriting has always balanced the personal with the political - exploring identity, mental health and empowerment. On it’s just my opinion, that same spirit of activism remains, but delivered through a softer, more human lens.
Expect an intimate, close-up set - followed by a signing session.
