About

This summer adventure awaits!

That's right, summer school is back! We are thrilled to be teaming up with the amazing Anthos Arts to once again deliver a summer school in the heart of Exeter. As if that wasn't exciting enough, this time we will be offering two weeks of drama and fun, each with their own theme to explore and culminating in a final performance for family and friends to attend.

Week One - The Heroes and Monsters of Ancient Greece!

Join us as we, and our brilliant summer school cast, set out to create a brand-new production based on stories from Ancient Greek mythology. What heroes will be encounter? What mischief will Zeus and the gods get up to? What terrifying monsters await us, and are we be brave enough to overcome them? Well, youll have to take part to find out!

Week Two - The Journey into the Enchanted Woods!

A simple day out turns into an unexpected journey, as a group of children accidentally stumble into the mystical Enchanted Woods, home to creatures and characters from fairy tales. Seeking a way home, but finding themselves going ever deeper into the woods, can our heroes get home, or will they be ensnared by the wicked forces within and be forever lost in tales they once thought fiction?

And we're doing something a little different this year, in addition to developing acting, physical theatre and puppetry skills, children will be able to explore other, behind-the-scenes, elements which bring a show to life! Children can now discover the magic of backstage, so if you're not a fan of the spotlight but want to be part of creating a show, there's a place for everyone on this years summer school. From crafting puppets and props to lights and sound; there will be plenty to get stuck into if you choose the Backstage option, and you will be taught by some of Exeter's brilliant theatre makers and get hands-on experience with:

* Props & Set Design - Create and craft the pieces that bring a show to life.
* Lighting & Sound Get a taster of how tech sets the mood.
* Stage Management Learn what it takes to run a smooth show.

From building props to running the stage, youll be part of the team that makes the magic happen!

For ages 6-11, the summer school is the perfect place for creative young people who love Drama, or who want to give it a go for the first time.
Anthos Arts are an Exeter based theatre school who have been working with children and young people in the city since 2015, delivering fun, quality Drama lessons to all ages.

Join us for just one week, or both...

We'll see you in the Summer!
