Set in the heart of the city centre, there's family fun aplenty as Exeter's Northernhay Gardens is transformed into a Winter Wonderland.

Spreading festive joy from 22nd November to 24th December, visitors will be treated to exciting rides and attractions along with an abundance of locally-sourced festive refreshments. You'll definitely want to get your skates on for the all-weather, real ice rink while Santa will be welcoming well behaved children to his giant grotto.

Here's our pick of what to see and do at Exeter's Winter Wonderland.

Ice rink

An all-weather, real ice rink in the heart of Exeter! Christmas really has come early. An exhilerating and fun activity for all skating abilities, experience the joy of skating in a magical winter setting. Watch out for the Grinch though as every Sunday at 3pm your favourite holiday character will be taking part in a special Grinch Ice Skate Takeover.

Make sure you get your skates on and book now so you don't miss out.

Santa's Grotto and Elf Workshop

Bring your letter to Santa, to post in his special box, and meet the man himself inside his giant grotto. Make sure you've been good though as Santa will know and he may not share with you two special gifts and a photo otherwise! There's also there the chance to get on his 'nice' list by helping out in the Naughty Elf Workshop. Book now to visit Santa.

Family fun fair

Fun for all the family, Exeter's Winter Wonderland festive funfair is guaranteed to leave you with a big smile on your face. From the traditional 150 year-old carousel to the Penguin Party Dodgems, Festive Funhouse, Santa Land, and much more, there's something for everyone and entertainment around every corner. Simply pick up your ride tokens from the Box Office near the Ice Rink and off you go.

Festive food and drink

You certainly won't go hungry at Exeter's Winter Wonderland as an array of different eateries will be serving up lots of festive delights. Pop by 'Christmas Swing Grill' where you'll find traditional Bratwurst Sausage, Krakauer, Currywurst and Frankfurters or visit 'The Hog Roast' that's home to fresh pork and turkey rolls, and Yorkshire pudding wraps. If you love your burger and chips then 'The Gourmet Grill' will also treat your taste buds.

Exeter's Winter Wonderland is open daily, 10am to 10pm, from Friday 22nd November until Tuesday 24th December.
