From family friendly festivals and Quayside activities to community events and markets, there's something for everyone, and they're all absolutely FREE to enjoy this summer.
Silent Book Club
Wednesday 2nd July
If you struggle to find some quality reading time then the Silent Book Club offers the perfect bit of escapism. It's entirely your choice what book to bring as you join up with likeminded book fans to quietly read as a collective. After an hour of reading there's some optional socialising and a great opportunity to get some recommendations from fellow readers.
Exeter Craft Festival
Thursday 3rd - Saturday 5th July
A celebration of art, craft and entertainment, Cathedral Green is the beautiful setting for over 100 stalls that make up Exeter Craft Festival. Browse and talk to makers of an array of work including ceramics, textiles, metalwork, and jewellery while enjoying the entertainment, which includes a strolling jazz band.
Celebrate 50 days until the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025
Saturday 5th July
Celebrating 50 days until the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 kicks off, come and join the party down at Princesshay on Saturday 5th July. Fun and entertainment for all the family, there'll be a rugby themed doodle wall for budding artists, a rugby rodeo, and live acoustic music. If you're feeling active then sports fans also can take part in a non-contact rugby taster session led by Exeter City Community Trust.
Green Phoenix Festival
Sunday 6th July
Inspiring a sustainable future through a day of creativity and action, Green Phoenix Festival returns for a second year. All ages are welcome and throughout the day there'll be a diverse programme of presentations, panel discussions, workshops and creative activities completely free of charge to the local community.
Jazz on the Quay
Sunday 6th, 13th and 20th July
Lazy Sunday afternoons and laid back jazz grooves, this is what summer is all about. Get in the swing as Jazz on the Quay comes to Exeter's Historic Quayside, providing your soundtrack to the summer.
Exeter Regatta
Saturday 12th July
A great family day out, pick a prime waterside spot and enjoy one of Exeter's oldest historic sporting events in the annual City of Exeter Regatta. A great showcase to watch future rowing stars, it's raced along the 400m “regatta straight” starting outside the Port Royal Pub and finishing by the Butts Ferry.
Fore Street Flea
Sunday 13th July
You never know what treasures you might find at the Fore Street Flea, and that's the whole beauty of it. The electic mix of stalls offers everything from pre-loved clothing to original art, delicious food and drink, and even live entertainment. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere make the Flea a perfect way to spend a Sunday in the West Quarter.
Quayside Farmers Market
Saturday 19th July
Fresh produce, artisan treats, and handmade crafts, come down and support your favourite local farmers, growers, and bakers at the monthly Quayside Farmers Market. Showcasing an incredible selection of traders, if you ask nicely you might even get to try a few samples.
Summer at the Quayside
Starts Tuesday 29th July
If you're at a loose end for some school summer holiday fun, that won't break the bank, then here's the perfect answer. Summer at the Quayside returns with a jam-packed programme of fun, free, and quirky activities for all the family. There's no booking needed either, simply turn up at the Transit Shed and enjoy!
