Experience the magic of the festive season at Exeter's Winter Wonderland, where Northernhay Gardens is transformed into a sparkling Christmas haven from late November through December. This much-loved event fills the heart of the city with twinkling lights, joyful music, and delicious festive aromas – and with free entry, it's perfect for everyone to enjoy.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Exeter's historic gardens, the event combines classic winter fun with a lively holiday atmosphere. Stroll beneath glowing trees, sip hot chocolate, and enjoy the laughter of families and friends soaking up the seasonal spirit.
Things to do:
Real Ice Rink – Glide gracefully (or learn to!) on a large undercover ice rink that's ideal for all skill levels.
Santa's Grotto & Elf Workshop – Meet Father Christmas, send your letter, and take home a special gift – an unforgettable treat for children.
Light Trail – Explore the illuminated trail winding through the gardens, filled with glowing displays and magical photo spots.
Funfair & Rides – Enjoy traditional carousels, thrilling rides, and festive games – fun for both kids and adults.
Festive Food & Drink – Warm up with bratwursts, hog roasts, sweet churros, mulled wine, and other winter favourites from local vendors.
