Experience the Ultimate Friday Night Out in Exeter
Looking for a night out that is completely different from the usual pub or club scene? Club Ceilidh is bringing its legendary, high-energy folk dance party back to Exeter on Friday, May 1st.
After a massive, sold-out launch that saw over 70 dancers take to the floor, we are ready to do it all over again at the America Hall in Pinhoe.
Whether you are a seasoned ceilidh pro or have never heard of a "Strip The Willow" in your life, this is the night for you. We believe that dancing is for everyone, which is why our events are designed to be inclusive, welcoming, and, above all, incredibly fun.
What is a Club Ceilidh?
For the uninitiated, a ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a traditional Gaelic social gathering involving folk music and group dancing. But this isn't your average village hall dance. Club Ceilidh takes that traditional foundation and turns the volume up. We focus on fast-paced, high-energy dances that get your heart racing and a smile on your face.
The best part? You don't need a partner and you definitely don't need to know the steps. Our expert "caller" Christian walks everyone through the moves before each dance starts, so you'll never feel lost. By the second tune, the whole room is spinning, laughing, and moving in sync. It is the perfect way to meet new people, get some exercise, and let off steam after a long work week.
The Venue and Atmosphere
We run our ceilidh at the spacious America Hall in Pinhoe, which provides a fantastic wooden dance floor for spinning and "stripping the willow." We keep the atmosphere casual and high-energy. Think festival vibes rather than a formal ball. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes (trainers are perfect!) and light clothing, because things definitely get sweaty on the dance floor!
