Timings
There will be a morning and afternoon sessionat all venues with the exception of Tavistock Library where there will be one session.
Each session will last 3 hours.
Please arrive punctually at the beginning and end of the session.
What will my child do?
At our venues inOkehampton, Moretonhampstead, Bridestowe, and Bovey Tracey, your child will have a fabulous 3 hours combining elements of art, design and engineering to form different 3D sculptures using various shapes and natural wood.
The children will also be learning and developing the skills of design, cutting, painting, colour mixing, how to make their sculpture balance from an engineering point of view but also how it looks and supporting each other through the process.
InTavistock, our focus will be slightly different as we are linking our activities to Tavistock Library Summer Reading Challenge Theme 'Transport'. During the three hours at Tavistock library we will be creating 3d models of different forms of transport. We will also explore structures related to transport, such as forming bridges for cars and trains.
Building with Meccano and Kinnex
In addition to the above activities, children will also have the time to use their engineering skills to build different 3d objects using Meccano and Kinnex. Age appropriate construction toys will be provided so there will be something for all to do.
Our overall aim, is to have a relaxed, fun, innovative and creative session where the children are buzzing with enthusiasm at the end.
I look forward to welcoming your child to one of our exciting events soon.
