My Heart Was a Tree

About

*My Heart Was a Tree with Michael & Clare Morpurgo, Carol Hughes and the Iddesleigh String Quartet*

Immerse yourself in an enchanting evening of poetry and music inspired by the beauty of the British countryside in this special concert to mark the 50th anniversary of the charity Farms For City Children.

Charity founders, Clare and Michael Morpurgo, are joined by Carol Hughes, widow of poet Ted Hughes, to share their most cherished poems in celebration of the natural world.

Their heartfelt readings are beautifully complemented by music from Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, Haydn, and Max Richter, performed by the Iddesleigh String Quartet

The family-friendly concert features readings from his acclaimed book My Heart Was a Tree, alongside the Ted Hughes poem that inspired its title.

Narration – Michael Morpurgo, Clare Morpurgo and Carol Hughes
